This LurnyMagic page allows content creators to convert an existing YouTube video into a structured, bite-sized learning experience. Lurny uses the video’s content to generate either one microlesson or a collection of related microlessons.
How to create the microlesson
Open Create a Microlesson from the left-side menu.
Select From YT Video.
Copy the URL of the required YouTube video.
Paste it into the Paste your YouTube URL here field.
Choose the required generation settings.
Click Create.
Lurny will process the video and generate the microlesson content.
Generation settings
Cluster
Select Cluster when the video covers several topics or is sufficiently detailed to be divided into multiple microlessons. Lurny automatically identifies the key sections and creates a connected set of short learning items.
Single Microlesson
Select Single Microlesson when you want the entire video to be converted into one consolidated learning experience. This is generally suitable for short videos or videos focused on a single topic.
Difficulty level
The selected difficulty influences how the content is explained and assessed:
Easy: Uses simpler explanations and straightforward knowledge checks.
Medium: Balances conceptual understanding with practical application.
Hard: Creates more advanced content requiring deeper analysis and understanding.
In the screen shown, Cluster and Medium difficulty are selected.
Recent microlessons from videos
The lower section displays microlessons previously generated from YouTube videos. Each card may show:
The lesson or cluster cover image
The generated title
Whether the content is a cluster
The number of items within the cluster
Selecting a card allows the creator to access the corresponding generated content.
Recommended practices
Choose a video that is clearly related to the intended learning objective.
Use Single Microlesson for short, focused videos.
Use Cluster for longer videos containing multiple concepts or sections.
Select the difficulty based on the learners’ existing knowledge.
Review the generated content for accuracy, relevance and organisational context before publishing it.
Important: The quality of the generated microlesson depends on the clarity and accessibility of the source video’s spoken content or transcript.
