Purpose

This LurnyMagic page allows content creators to convert text they already have into a structured, bite-sized learning experience. Simply type or paste the source text, and Lurny will identify the key learning points and generate relevant microlesson content and knowledge checks.

This option is particularly useful when the source material does not exist as a webpage, video or formal document.

Suitable content and use cases

Free text can be used to create microlessons from:

  • Notes written by a subject-matter expert

  • Sections copied from approved policies or procedures

  • Product features and benefit summaries

  • Process instructions or checklists

  • Frequently asked questions

  • Sales scripts and customer-handling guidelines

  • Meeting notes or training summaries

  • Safety instructions and compliance updates

  • Internal announcements that require learner understanding

  • Draft content created specifically for a microlesson

How to create the microlesson

  1. Open Create a Microlesson from the left-side menu.

  2. Select From Free Text.

  3. Type or paste the source material into the text box.

  4. Review the text and remove any irrelevant or confidential information.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Review the generated microlesson before publishing or assigning it.

Lurny analyses the text and converts its key ideas into a structured learning experience.

Examples

Example 1: Customer-service guidance

A creator could paste:

Always greet the customer politely, understand the purpose of the visit and confirm the customer’s requirements before recommending a product. Avoid using technical language and check that the customer has understood the explanation.

Lurny could turn this into a microlesson about understanding customer needs and communicating clearly, supported by scenario-based knowledge checks.

Example 2: Workplace safety procedure

A short fire-evacuation procedure can be pasted into the text box. Lurny may generate a lesson explaining the alarm response, evacuation route, assembly point and actions employees should avoid during an emergency.

Example 3: Product update

A product manager can paste a summary of a new product’s features, benefits, eligibility rules and exclusions. Lurny can then create a short product-knowledge lesson for sales or customer-service teams.

Example 4: Policy update

When one section of an organisational policy changes, the updated text can be pasted directly without uploading the entire policy document. This helps create a focused microlesson covering only the change employees need to understand.

Recent microlessons from Free Text

The lower section displays microlessons and clusters previously generated from free text. Each card may show:

  • The generated cover image

  • The microlesson or cluster title

  • Whether the content is a cluster

  • The number of items within the cluster

  • The number of learning stubs and quizzes

  • The XP learners can earn

  • Learner or engagement information

  • The processing status, where content is still being generated

Selecting a card allows the creator to open and manage the generated content.

  • Begin with a clear learning objective.

  • Use accurate, approved and up-to-date source material.

  • Organise longer text using headings, short paragraphs or numbered steps.

  • Include sufficient context so that the information is understandable on its own.

  • Define abbreviations and organisation-specific terminology.

  • Remove duplicated, unrelated or incomplete content.

  • Avoid combining several unrelated subjects in one input.

  • Review all AI-generated explanations and questions before publishing.

Important: Lurny generates the microlesson from the information provided. Very short, vague or poorly structured text may produce generic or incomplete results. Always provide adequate context and verify the generated content for accuracy.
